The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) and the Rupiah Weakened on August 22, 2025
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell at the close of trading today, Friday (August 22, 2025). Since the start of trading, the JCI has fluctuated quite sharply. After briefly moving in the green zone, the JCI finally weakened 0.40%, or 31.86 points, to 7,858.8.

The JCI today moved within the 7,858-7,913 range. A total of 361 stocks rose, 275 stocks fell, and 163 stocks remained unchanged.

?The stock transaction volume reached 41.6 billion, with a total trading value of IDR 16 trillion, occurring in 1.8 million transactions.

Meanwhile, the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar also weakened during todays trading.

According to Bloomberg data on the spot exchange market, the rupiah closed down 62.5 points, or 0.38%, to IDR 16,350 per US dollar.
